Dypsis lutescens, also known as golden cane palm, areca palm, yellow palm, butterfly palm, or bamboo palm, is a species of flowering plant in the family Arecaceae. Areca palm has a slow to moderate growth rate indoors and outdoors.
Description
Areca palm (Chrysalidocarpus lutescens) is one of the most widely used palms for bright interiors. It features feathery, arching fronds, each with up to 100 leaflets. These big, bold plants command attention. It can grow to a mature height of 10 feet indoors and up to 35 feet outdoors. During the winter it’s easy to overwater your Palm, so you should check if the soil is dry before watering your plant. If the soil is still moist during this time, wait a few days and check again. On average, you should water your Areca palm around once per week to once every 10 days in the fall and winter.
